About Steven Yager
Steven Yager developed an interest in construction while attending the Kansas City Art Institute in the late 1980's. While his interests in college were toward Sculpture and the Fine Arts, he worked part time with tradesmen learning plumbing, house painting and basic construction techniques.
Upon graduating with a Bachelors degree in 1989, Steven moved to Portland, Oregon and continued his passion for art as well as working in numerous areas of construction. Combining a spirit of entrepreneurship and a deep love of artistic expression, his career developed along numerous fronts.
As time past and his business grew, many new opportunities came his way. In 1997, finish carpentry and cabinetmaking sparked a great deal of interest in him when a small custom cabinet shop offered him a position. The focus over the next several years turned from running his own business to building cabinetry and running installations for theirs.
In 2000 Steven decided to move north to where he grew up and spent time as a teen. Making the Seattle area his new home base, he re-opened his shop in residential contracting. Simultaneously, he enrolled at a local college to pursue another creative degree. This time, his artistic expression was realized through the digital realm. While re-starting his contracting business, he obtained a two year Certificate in Digital Media Development from Bellevue College in 2002.
Now, with a new infusion of experiences, he set upon building a contracting business and creative workshop in Woodinville, Washington. Once again, his business and creative talents grew with every new contact and each opportunity. His creative talents and business model are inextricably woven together. Art and craft are one - created with pride and built on integrity.
